In August 2024, with approximately 100 active volunteers and currently under consideration for Donataria Autorizada status with the Mexican government, Collin managed to find and lease a building to provide shelter to the most vulnerable people transiting Oaxaca. With a one-year lease that is renewable for up to five years, priority will be given to women, children, families traveling together and the elderly. Through the assistance of its donors and its many volunteers, Collin’s shelter facility will be able to house as many as 150 people overnight and aid many more.
